Nilendra Deshapriya Productions has just released a music video for the song 'Akasa Kusum.' The song, which can be heard in the film's soundtrack, was written by Upul Shantha Sannasgala with music by top Sri Lankan musican/producer Ranga Dasanayaka.
Performed by young newcomer Saman Nishantha, the song is a slow ballad, with lilting vocals and a lush throbbing soundscape of melodic strings and horns. The video is an artfully compiled montage of shots from the film "Akasa Kusum," edited in perfect harmony with the song's soaring emotional weight.
"Akasa Kusum," which has become a hit in the international film festival circuit, is scheduled to hit Sri Lankan cinemas in late July, 2009.
